Introducing the 2026 Teams
The Breastie Bunch

The Breastie Bunch is a group of neighborhood friends who started the relay in 2024 after Sarah’s battle with Breast cancer in 2023. We quickly became a team of friends and family who have all been touched in one way or another by some type of cancer. So although we are team Breastie Bunch for Sarah’s fight, we are a team who walks with everyone fighting cancer!

Butterfly Kisses
Our team started to remember my cancer journey. Unfortunately a few years later my mom found out she had Cancer. Our team quickly turned into her support team. We gathered together to support her and fight with her against Cancer, She lost her fight in 2018 and we continue to fight in her honor! We also walk in the memory of many other loved ones including my dad, my father in law my aunt , my uncle and many other friends and loved ones. Each year our team changes but every year we stand together to FIGHT BACK against CANCER!

Meet the Schwalkers (formerly Keep Smiling)

Team “Meet the Schwalkers” came to be by combing two previous teams, “Keep Smiling” and “Fred’s Angels”. Both team captains last names start with “Schwa” that’s how our new name came to be. Our dads passed away from cancer and we want to continue to honor/remember them. Anna’s dad had also participated in Relay For Life, that’s how I became involved.

Sisterhood

The team Sisterhood was founded by Kristi Larson. Kristi and teammates Mallory Wakefield, Jen Kissling and Tanya Iverson are all breast cancer survivors. As a result, they found themselves in a ‘Sisterhood’ that none of them chose to be a part of. And yet, that very sisterhood surrounded them with hope and guided them as they walked the breast cancer journey. The team’s motto is: In this family no one fights alone. They are joined by family and friends who supported and cared for them (and still do!), and who have been touched by cancer in other ways as well.
Team Captain — Kristi Larson
Team Corgi

Team Corgi is headed by Izzie who spent most of her teen years battling osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and acute myeloid leukemia. She hopes to bring together those in our area who’ve battled childhood cancer and get local health care workers involved in Relay for Life.

Team Jaeger
![]()
Team Jaeger was started 5 years ago as a way to celebrate and honor Rosie Jaeger. Rosie was a sister, aunt and friend to us all and we miss her so much. She was diagnosed with a very rare form of breast cancer in September of 2020 and we lost her 5 months later. Since that time, we have had 4 other family members receive cancer diagnoses; leukemia, colorectal cancer, breast cancer and liver cancer. Prior to Rosie’s diagnosis, we had 2 cancer survivors, Linda Jaeger and Leo Jaeger.
We have been participating in the Alexandria, MN Relay for Life from the beginning, but are excited to be joining the IGH SSP WSP Relay this year.
We hope that Team Jaeger will have a great showing this year in honor of the 5th anniversary of Rosie leaving us. We will do our best to celebrate Rosie, honor our other family members battling cancer, and to fight back to end cancer for good! Please join us in the fight!
